Dr. Carlos Henrique dos Anjos dos Santos completed his Bachelor and Master in Fisheries Engineering from the Federal University of Ceara, having worked with nutrition of aquatic organisms. PhD in Genetics, Conservation and Evolutionary Biology and, Postdoctor by the Brazilian National Research Institute of the Amazon, working on the genetic management of native fish in the Amazon basin. I have been developing applied studies for the development of genetic improvement in the species Colossoma macropomum (tambaqui), as well as studies to develop a sex-specific marker for Arapaima gigas (pirarucu). He is currently working with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), with messenger RNA and bioinformatics. I have been active in population genetic studies with the identification of populations that may be undergoing local adaptation due to climatic and anthropogenic changes.
